Filling up your tank these days already puts a strain on your wallet, so the idea of driving anywhere for food isn’t exactly appealing. But Papa Johns is trying to help out by giving customers a little something back for making the trip.

The chain just introduced a limited-time promotion called “Pizza Miles,” which essentially rewards people for choosing carryout instead of delivery. Here’s what you need to know about the new Papa Johns Pizza Miles deal.

How Does It Work?

A green car’s gas tank door features a pizza-themed fuel gauge with the text “Papa Johns Pizza Miles.” Below, it says, “Gas is rising, so is your dough.” The Papa Johns logo appears in the lower right corner.

If you’re already driving to pick up pizza, you might as well get rewarded for it. From April 3 through April 5, Papa Rewards members who opt into the promotion will get $4 in “Papa Dough” after placing a qualifying carryout order of $10 or more through the app or website.

The credit can then be used on a future order.

To take advantage of the deal, you’ll need to be signed up for the Papa Rewards program through the app or website, which is free to join.

What Is Papa Dough?

If you’re not deep into Papa Johns’ rewards system, Papa Dough is basically store credit. Once earned, it’s valid for 14 days and can be redeemed through the app on your next order — so it’s less “cash back” and more “come back soon,” because of course a rewards program needs to have a catch.

Still, in a time when everything is expensive, even a few dollars back might be enough to sway some customers.

“If you’re choosing carryout, we’re choosing to reward you for it,” said Lyndsie Adams, Vice President of Customer Marketing and Media at Papa Johns. “Pizza Miles gives our most loyal Papa Rewards members real value back in Papa Dough, simply for picking up the pizza they already love.”

In other words, if you’re already trying to save money by avoiding delivery fees, Papa Johns wants to meet you halfway.
