Stone fruit season is over, but peaches are still making news. Moonlight Companies, a Fresno-based fruit wholesaler, and multiple grocery stores nationwide are recalling four lots of California peaches due to possible contamination with Listeria, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Here’s what shoppers need to know about the widespread peach recall.
Which Peaches Have Been Recalled?

The recall includes specific packages of yellow and white peaches, sold under the Moonlight brand, as well as some yellow peaches sold under the Kroger label. Here’s what to look for on packages, according to the FDA:

Where Were the Affected Peaches Sold?

The peaches were sold individually or in multi-packs at major retailers nationwide between September 16, 2025, and October 29, 2025. The spread is wide. Some of the stores that sold the affected peaches are:
- Sprouts
- Food Lion
- Trader Joe’s
- Kroger
- Walmart
- Costco
- Sam’s Club
However, the recall does not apply to packages or PLU stickers with either or both of the following words:
- “Washington”
- “Organic”
What Should I Do if I Have the Recalled Peaches?

Throw the fruit away, or take it back to where you got it for a full refund.
