Saving money on food feels like a combat sport right now, with all of us regular people and our tightening wallets fighting against endless inflation and corporate greed. As connoisseurs of cheapness, Aldi is one of our favorite grocery stores in that fight, where we can still get a whole cart full of food for $100 that’ll last you a week.
Every Wednesday morning, Aldi’s new weekly ad comes out, and we scour it for the best deals. (Does anyone else get excited about browsing the weekly ads? No? Just us?) Here are the Aldi deals that stood out to us on February 4, and that we’ll be buying for our budget Super Bowl watch party on Sunday.
Prices subject to change. Always check the weekly ad at your local Aldi for prices in your area.
This Week’s Best Aldi Deal: $6-$7 16” Pizzas

Pizza is one of the most popular Super Bowl foods, and Aldi has its wildly popular take-and-bake pizzas on sale:
- Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen 16″ Five Cheese pizza for $5.99
- Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen 16″ Pepperoni pizza for $6.99
These pizzas are a huge 16 inches and weigh around 40 ounces, which is much bigger than a frozen pizza. We’ve found that this pizza can feed a family of four, unlike their frozen and much smaller counterparts.
You can find these right at the front of most stores, often in the same refrigerator case as some of the produce. (Depending on the store, they may also be located in the back refrigerators near the cheese and pre-made dips and things.)
Though it’s only cheese and pepperoni on sale, these are great pizzas to “doctor” up since they’re unbaked. Onions, jalapenos or bell peppers, cooked Italian sausage, fresh garlic, and dried Italian herbs are all good additions, depending on your budget. If you’ve got a lot of people over for the big game, buy a few cheese pizzas and set up a toppings bar for people to create pizza masterpieces.
Other Aldi Deals You’ll Love This Week
- Avocados: 45 cents
Current Walmart price: 55 cents
Hot dang! Guacamole is definitely going to be on the menu for the Super Bowl, too. And then we’re going to throw slices on our breakfast toast, and in our salads as well at this price. - Fresh Mega Pack Chicken Wings: $1.99/pound
Walmart price: $2.97/pound
Chicken wings are going to make an appearance at a ton of parties this weekend. Save money by buying them raw and cooking them yourself, instead of getting a frozen pre-made product. Fresh wings are only $1.99 per pound this week, so it’s hard not to buy a few pounds, a bottle of your favorite wing sauce, and make your own pile of wings for way less than a restaurant. - Clancy’s Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips: $1.95
Walmart price: $1.97
Chips and snacks are so overpriced right now, so it’s important to stock up when you see a good deal. Aldi brand tortilla chips (for that guac, salsa, and buffalo chicken dip!) are less than two bucks right now, and while that’s pretty much Walmart’s price this week, we’d rather support Aldi with our money. Bonus: Clancy’s Kettle Chips are the same price too. - Parkview Cocktail Sausages: $2.79 for 1 pound
Walmart price: $3.86
You can’t have a party without those little cocktail sausages bobbing around your crockpot in grape jelly and barbecue sauce combo. This is a great price, so stock up and put a couple packages in the freezer if you eat them often. - Hawaiian Sweet Rolls: $1.99
Walmart price: $2.68
People use Hawaiian rolls to make all kinds of delicious party sandwiches, so if you’ve ever wanted French dip or meatball sliders, Super Bowl weekend seems like the best time to experiment. Aldi’s Hawaiian rolls are way cheaper than King’s, but they’re just as good — and once you load them up, no one would notice if they weren’t, anyway. - Green Grapes: $1.49/pound
Walmart price: $1.97/pound
One cannot live on football food alone, so you better get some fruit, too. Green grapes are really cheap this week, so you can overeat them as a refresher after all that pizza and wings.
