After ordering a ham, bacon, sausage, or chorizo breakfast burrito, grab some homemade salsa inside the converted gas station and dine at one of the picnic tables outside. 

It’s worth the drive or at least a stop if you’re passing through on Interstate 70 on the way to Arches National Park. Says one fan: “Legitimately one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had in my entire life. If you ever pass through Green River, this place is an absolute must!”

Burlington Vermont crêperie The Skinny Pancake loads its sweet and savory “skinny pancakes,” paninis, poutines, and all-day breakfast burritos with locally sourced ingredients. In addition to waterfront patio dining, the restaurant has a “killer breakfast burrito and rocking bloody Mary.” 

You’ll find the savory breakfast burrito on the menu at Montpelier, Stowe, and Quechee locations too; its black bean medley, scrambled eggs, and Cabot cheddar are rolled in a scallion crepe and come with ranchero sauce and cilantro-lime sour cream.

Alexandria  Coming in to La Mexicana in the morning makes it weird to shop its extensive array of desserts, but breakfast is also all-day at this mom-and-pop shop not far from Washington, D.C., where The Washingtonian says the entire menu of Mexican savories “isn’t to be missed.” 

There’s carne asada, pico de gallo, refried beans, melted cheese, and sour cream in the California burrito as well as eggs and crispy fries, which presents a problem whatever time you get it: leaving room for dessert.

SeattleThe family-owned Los Agaves in in the bustling Pike Place Market selling a “heavenly zesty” chorizo breakfast burrito with fried eggs, fresh cheese, and spicy salsa; the meats are superbly spiced and tortillas are handmade. 

One Yelp reviewer says, “It took some laps around the market to find this place but SO WORTH IT! Best breakfast burrito I’ve EVER had. I’m from Las Vegas, and this place tops anything I’ve had back home.”

Charleston and Huntington  The “mammoth and out of this world” breakfast burrito at Black Sheep Burrito and Brews incorporates chorizo or vegan garbanzo chorizo, scrambled egg, crispy fries, black beans, corn salsa, jack cheese, and a lime-Sriracha crema. 

The quirky gastropub’s burrito is perhaps best paired with one of the refreshing and award-winning craft brews on tap from the restaurant’s house brewery, Bad Shepherd Beer, out of Charleston.

Served day and night, elevated breakfast favorites include the breakfast burrito with house-made chorizo (or sub in veggies), cage-free scrambled eggs, pepper jack cheese, black beans, and roasted potatoes, served with a heaping side of hash browns or mixed greens.

Cheyenne   The R&B Breakfast Club, self-proclaimed “The Home of the Breakfast Burrito,” is certainly favored by locals for its legendary smothered breakfast burritos. The Elvis-themed hot spot buzzes with diners daily. On Wednesdays, there’s a special with all-you-can-eat breakfast burritos. 

The famous hefty Rocky Mountain breakfast burrito folds eggs, hash browns, and choice meat: sausage, ham, or bacon (or all three if you’d like) into a tortilla, then it’s smothered with green/red chili and topped with cheese. There are also chorizo, steak, German sausage, and vegetarian breakfast burritos available.
