In the mood for a sandwich? Some cities are better for the lunch staple than others, according to a study by Lawn Love, which looked at cities with high-quality sandwich spots and where award-winning sandwiches were located. The study gathered data based on customer reviews, awards, and expert rankings, and took into account factors like the number of places serving sandwiches, the quality of the sandwiches, and local interest based on Google searches. Find out if your city made the list or let us know in the comments if you think your city should be higher in the rankings.Related: A Sandwich Lover’s Ultimate Bucket List

1. New York

Cath L./Yelp

The city that never sleeps has nearly every type of food you can imagine — including sandwiches, whether that be pastrami on rye, bánh mì, or countless other options. There was even one shop that sold a s’moagie (s’mores plus hoagie) last year. It’s no surprise this city shows up at the top of the list.

3. Washington, D.C.

The Original Ben’s Chili Bowl

The capital of our country is no slouch when it comes to a lunch option that can be grabbed (and eaten) on the go. If you consider a hot dog a sandwich, grab a half-smoke at Ben’s Chili Bowl.

4. St. Louis

Chase C./Yelp

St. Louis has plenty of sandwich choices, including brisket hoagies and upscale PB&J, but The Gerber with its provel cheese that you can order at Ruma’s Deli is a must.

5. San Francisco

Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen, San Francisco
Moy V./Yelp

The Golden Gate shouldn’t distract from the fact San Fran has some delicious food. If you can pull yourself away from the requisite chowder in a bread bowl, try the sandwiches at Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen — almost everything is made in-house.

6. Boston

Melmoth K./Yelp

While you may pahk ya cah in Havahd Yahd in Beantown, don’t forget to grab lunch while you’re there. The Surf and Turf (a roast beef sandwich and lobster roll) at Kelly’s Roast Beef in Revere is a must-stop.

7. Philadelphia

The city of brotherly love and the Liberty Bell also makes a mean cheesesteak. Whether you pick Pat’s, Geno’s, or (gasp) someplace else, Philly is sure to meet your craving.

You may not grab an overpriced bite at Disney World, but Beefy King has been serving up roast beef sandwiches since 1968. Even the airport has good eats, including the Cuban sandwiches at Zaza Cuban Cafe & Coffee.

9. Las Vegas

Nevada: Bros Breakfast and Lunch
Shannon Y./Yelp

This city is full of indulgences — and food is one of the more acceptable ones. If you don’t opt for an all-you-can-eat buffet (or are recovering from one the morning after), the city is well-known for awesome breakfast sandwiches if you want some protein before hitting the slot machines.

Cuban Sandwich, Las Olas Cafe

After a day at the beach (or a night of partying), there’s nothing better than a Cuban sandwich in Miami. While you can grab one at almost any corner, Las Olas Cafe in Miami Beach is famous for them.
