Once Thanksgiving is done, the leftovers are packed up, and everyone snaps out of the food coma, Americans turn their attention to Black Friday, the unofficial kickoff to the holiday buying frenzy. Recently, shopping habits have shifted toward online deals, but a steady group of shoppers still shows up in person for early openings and doorbuster crowds. For those shoppers, here are the confirmed Black Friday store hours for major retailers — including Best Buy, Costco, Walmart, and more — and when each store opens.
When Is Black Friday 2025?

Thanksgiving falls on November 27 this year, since it’s the fourth Thursday of the month. That puts Black Friday on November 28th and Cyber Monday on December 1 for 2025. Most big-box chains close their doors for Thanksgiving and then open early Friday with extended hours for the biggest shopping day of the year. A few exceptions, like some drugstores and dollar stores, will be open on Thanksgiving, but the main doorbuster rush is still on Friday.
