It’s the Whopper’s 64th birthday, and we all get to celebrate at Burger King.

The restaurant is selling Whoppers for just 37 cents in honor of its signature flame-grilled burger. It’s throwing back prices to 1957, the year the Whopper was introduced. Customers back then paid 37 cents for the burger, which is normally over $5 now. So yeah — you could say this is a whopper of a deal. (Sorry.)

The deal is good on Friday, Dec. 3, and Saturday, Dec. 4, at participating locations. In order to get the special birthday bash price, you’ll have to sign up for BK’s free loyalty program, Royal Perks, and order the burger through the BK app or website.

This is the second time in less than a month that a fast-food chain has dropped an iconic item’s price to celebrate its birthday. Last month, McDonald’s sold the Egg McMuffin for 63 cents on the sandwich’s 50th birthday.

Burger King would certainly welcome a bounce in business. It has ceded ground to rivals and is trying a number of strategies to catch up. It recently said it would streamline its menu to make drive-thru service faster. It’s also moving away from paper coupons because younger customers simply aren’t using them, preferring to focus on digital deals like this one.
