These days, it’s not enough to be an actor, musician, or reality TV star — you’ve got to have your own brand to go with it. Tons of celebrities have banked on their names bringing in big bucks via beauty products, fashion lines, and even their own alcohol brands. New to the list: A line of eyewear from none other than Sir Elton John himself, to be sold by Walmart and Sam’s Club.

A style icon for decades, Elton John is bringing his distinct fashion sense to Walmart and Sam’s Club optical centers. Elton John Eyewear includes frames inspired by his life and career, and the singer has personally named each pair. Though the singer undoubtedly sports pricier specs, most of the frames in his line are priced around $100. For those comfortable spending a bit more to make a fashion statement, Sam’s will also sell a collection recreated from eyewear John has worn while performing; those more exclusive frames will be numbered and signed, and will start at $350. Walmart will donate a minimum of $1 million each year from sales of the collection to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

She has written for outlets ranging from InStyle magazine to Psychology Today and for a number of grocery and personal care brands. Jennifer is frugal by proxy: She is married to a certified cheapskate, which has been good for her wallet but bad for her shoe and handbag collections. These days, she never, ever buys her fashions at full price. Jennifer holds a Master’s in Journalism from New York University. She lives in Connecticut with her family and an admittedly expensive-to-maintain standard poodle — the one anomaly in her cheap lifestyle. Find out more about Jennifer at www.jennifermagid.com.
