Have you purchased sauté pans from Costco or Walmart? It’s time to dig them out of your cabinet and take a look. One brand was just recalled after reports of injuries, according to a notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Here’s what you need to know about the recalled Granitestone pans.
What’s Wrong With the Pans?
The recalled sauté pans pose an impact and burn hazard because one part of the pan can become detached while using it. When the pan is heated, “the metal cap on the screw that connects the sauté pan to the handle can become detached and forcefully eject,” according to the CPSC.
So far, there have been 98 incidents of this happening reported to the importer and distributor of the pans, E Mishan & Sons. In at least one of those instances, the consumer reported that they were bruised and burned from the metal cap when it was ejected from the pan.

Which Pans are Recalled?
The recalled pans are Granitestone Diamond Pro brand blue sauté pans. About 740,000 of the pans are part of the recall, and they were sold between August 2021 and February 2026 for about $40.
The Granitestone Diamond Pro pans were sold at Costco, as well as online at Walmart and Amazon in a 2-piece set with 10-inch and 11.5-inch pans. The UPC number is 0-80313-08131-6.
According to a recall letter sent to Costco members and posted on the store’s website, the recalled pans are Costco item #1527855. If you purchased them, you’ll probably get a letter, call, or email from the company informing you of the recall.
What Should I Do if I Have the Recalled Granitestone Pans?
If you have the recalled Granitestone Diamond Pro blue sauté pans, the CPSC is advising you to stop using them immediately.
If you purchased your recalled pans at Costco, you can return them to any Costco for a full refund. If you purchased them online at Walmart or Amazon, Granitestone is advising you to contact E Mishan for a refund. You’ll be asked to ship the pans to the company in order to receive it, so you’re better off trying to return them in store if possible.
