There are a lot of things that you can get at Costco for cheaper than the outside world, but are vaccines one of them? After one traveler was quoted about $1,000 for rabies vaccines, they asked the Costco Subreddit for opinions on that price. Does that sound fair to you? While not everyone may need a rabies vaccine anytime soon, Costco Pharmacy offers a wide variety of immunizations and vaccines, and some may be available at lower prices than at other providers. Here’s what the crowd had to say about the Costco vaccine program.

The following vaccines and prices are listed on Costco’s immunization program page. The rabies vaccine that the original Redditor was quoted for $1000, is not listed here, so it’s likely this list is not comprehensive.

  • Seasonal Flu Vaccines – starting at $21.99

  • Abrysvo (RSV) – $310.99

What Are People Saying About Costco Vaccines?

Most people in the original thread agreed that Costco’s vaccine prices are reasonable. “I manage some group trips where people have gone to Costco and we recommend,” wrote one user. “It’s much cheaper than the other travel vaccine places.”

“I highly recommend it, only a $40 consultation fee,” commented another.

While most agree that Costco’s prices are lower or equal to other places to get immunized, many point out that it’s still worth it to call around to various pharmacies and check GoodRx.

Prices vary by area, but GoodRx is the best place to start. You will need to check your area and local pharmacies for the best prices.

I’m in Atlanta as I search for this, and the closest CVS to me is charging $467 for the Rabavert rabies shot. You need two doses, so this still comes out to a little less than the $1k the original poster was quoted. That said, Walmart is offering it for $528 per dose in my area, so that makes it more expensive.
