You can use the site to shop, stream shows, grab groceries, publish books, sling sales yourself, fill your prescriptions, visit with a doctor, and now … buy a used Ford vehicle. The Michigan-based automaker has announced it will join Amazon Auto to sell used vehicles. Here’s what carbuyers should know abou the new Ford and Amazon Autos partnership.
What Is Amazon Auto?

Amazon Autos is the e-commerce giant’s foray into vehicle sales, allowing customers to browse, finance, and purchase vehicles entirely online, then pick them up at a local dealership. Launched in December 2024, the platform initially partnered with Hyundai and was available in 48 U.S. cities.
In August 2025, Amazon expanded the service to include used and certified pre-owned vehicles, opening the door for additional automakers to join. The platform functions as a marketplace where dealerships list their inventory, set their own prices, and maintain control over customer relationships — Amazon facilitates the transaction.
How Will Ford Sell Used Vehicles on Amazon?

Ford’s partnership allows customers to browse participating local dealers’ certified pre-owned Ford vehicle selections on Amazon Autos and complete most paperwork online. The process mirrors the familiar Amazon shopping experience: shoppers can search by model, color, and features, secure financing through the site, and schedule a pickup appointment at the dealership (no Prime delivery to your doorstep, sorry).
The program will debut in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas before expanding to other locations. Ford said any certified pre-owned vehicle sold through Amazon Autos comes with a money-back guarantee, allowing customers to return the vehicle within 14 days or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first. About 180 Ford dealers have expressed interest in the program, with 20 already signed up.
What to Know Before You Buy

While buying a car on Amazon might sound convenient, there are some important caveats. Amazon Autos aims for competitive, no-haggle pricing with transparent costs displayed upfront, including taxes and fees. Vehicle listings are shown to customers within 75 miles of their zip code, so your selection depends on what participating dealerships in your area have in stock.
All vehicles sold through Amazon Autos include a warranty, with the option to purchase additional protection products during checkout. However, unlike your typical Amazon purchase, there’s no Prime delivery — you’ll need to pick up the vehicle in person at the dealership, where you’ll complete any remaining paperwork that requires a physical signature. And while you can complete financing online, if you’re unable to complete your order on Amazon, you’ll be given the option to be contacted by the dealer who can work directly with you.
