This Veterans Day, one salon chain is giving back the best way it knows how — with free haircuts for veterans. This will be the 13th year in a row that Great Clips has thanked veterans with the service, doling out a total of 2.5 million free haircuts so far. Here are all the details, including how to gift a free haircut to a veteran you know.
Who Gets Free Veterans Day Haircuts?

Veterans get free haircuts from Great Clips as part of its annual Thank a Veteran program. But it’s not limited to former service members: current service members are eligible as well. If you’re an active military service member, you can also snag a free cut from Great Clips as a way of saying thank you for your service.
If you’re in Canada, where Remembrance Day is celebrated, veterans and active-duty service members will also receive a free haircut at participating Great Clips locations.
How Do You Get a Free Haircut?

Veterans and active-duty service members just need to visit any Great Clips in the U.S. on Tuesday, November 11, to get a free haircut. If you don’t have time for a cut that day, you can also get a free haircut card to use on a future visit, which is good through December 5. It’s the same deal in Canada, though you’ll want to call ahead to be sure your Great Clips is participating in the promotion first.
How to Get a Free Haircut For Veterans You Know

One of the best parts about this Veterans Day promotion is that Great Clips also gives out free haircut cards to anyone who asks for one on November 11. Then you can gift the free haircut card to any veteran or active duty service member you know who may not be aware of the promotion. It’s an excellent way for you to thank a veteran.
“This tradition is just one way of saying thank you to those who serve and sacrifice for their country,” said Steve Hockett, CEO of Great Clips in a press release, “while also giving our customers an opportunity to show their appreciation.”
