Frito-Lay is recalling a limited batch of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips, so if you have a bag sitting in the pantry, it might be worth a quick look.
The company issued a voluntary recall of 8-ounce bags of the chips after discovering they may contain an undeclared milk allergen. According to a notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on March 4, some bags labeled as Spicy Dill Pickle may actually contain jalapeño-flavored chips, which include dairy ingredients not listed on the label.
“A limited number of 8 oz. bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips are being recalled as they could include jalapeño-flavored potato chips and therefore may contain an undeclared milk allergen,” Frito-Lay said in a statement. The company added that the chips are safe for people who do not have a dairy allergy.

Which Chips Are Affected?
The recall is limited to 8-ounce bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips. Consumers can identify the affected bags using the information printed on the packaging.
The recalled products include a UPC of 0 28400 761772, a “Guaranteed Fresh” date of April 21, 2026, and one of two manufacturing codes: 38U301414 or 48U101514. Those codes appear along the right side on the front of the bag.
No other Miss Vickie’s flavors or sizes are included in the recall, including products sold in variety packs.
Where Were They Sold?
According to the FDA notice, the chips may have been distributed starting January 15, 2026, through grocery stores, convenience stores, drugstores, and online retailers in the following states:
- Arkansas
- Louisiana
- Mississippi
- New Mexico
- Oklahoma
- Texas
The issue was identified after a consumer contacted the company. Frito-Lay says no allergic reactions have been reported so far.
