Fact: McDonald’s french fries are only elite when they’re fresh. Also a fact: Everything else from McDonald’s is also going to be better when it’s fresh (mind-blowing, right?).

Still, sometimes when we hit the Golden Arches, we’re met with stale-tasting food that screams, “I’ve been sitting out under a heat lamp for a hot minute.” It’s an absolute McBuzzkill.

The key to getting your hands on some fresh food at Mickey D’s isn’t as complicated as you’d think it would be. TikTok user @loveatfirsttable says all you have to do is customize your order, and it will be prepared fresh for you. Ask for extra pickles, onions, ketchup, or anything that comes with what you ordered. She adds, “If you like something, double it.”

Without fail, every single time, she says McDonald’s HAS to make your food fresh since you didn’t order it the standard way. Commenters were quick to confirm her discovery, too, with one writing, “Works everywhere.”

Now, keep in mind, if your food is being freshly made, it’s going to take a bit more time, so be prepared for that inevitable “Please pull forward” request and hold your horses.
