Five Harris Teeter stores across three states will shut their doors by summer’s end as part of a larger Kroger-led plan to close underperforming locations across the country.

What’s Going On with Harris Teeter Closures?

The grocery chain told USA TODAY that the closures come after “careful consideration and strategic market review.”

Roughly 100 to 120 employees work at each store, and they’ll have the option to transfer to other Harris Teeter or Kroger-owned locations.

  • 950 S. George Mason Dr, Arlington, VA — closing by July 20
  • 3600 S. Glebe Rd, Arlington, VA — closing by August 4
