spaghetti with candy in it
HelloFresh

You can cover all of the main elf food groups with HelloFresh’s limited-edition Buddy the Elf-inspired spaghetti dinner kit. Just like in “Elf,” the kit includes everything you need for a sugary spaghetti breakfast, from assorted candies to marshmallows and (of course) maple syrup. The meal-kit company’s culinary development manager, Michelle Doll Olson, describes HelloFresh’s take on the iconic pasta dish as “chocolate forward.”

As the base of the dish, the Colavita spaghetti is the only thing traditional about this pasta. Other ingredients include chocolate-frosted pastries, chocolate syrup, chocolate nonpareil candies, and other sweets. And if you don’t want to be a cotton-headed ninny muggins, you can harness your inner elf and slurp down an entire 2-liter bottle of Coca-Cola after shoveling the spaghetti into your mouth like a wild animal. You may as well commit, right?

Meet the Writer

Rachel is a Michigan-based writer who has dabbled in a variety of subject matter throughout her career. As a mom of multiple young children, she tries to maintain a sustainable lifestyle for her family. She grows vegetables in her garden, gets her meat in bulk from local farmers, and cans fruits and vegetables with friends. Her kids have plenty of hand-me-downs in their closets, but her husband jokes that before long, they might need to invest in a new driveway thanks to the frequent visits from delivery trucks dropping off online purchases (she can’t pass up a good deal, after all).
