If you’re a Honda driver who’s managed to scrape past all of the other auto recalls lately, you may feel like you’re sitting pretty. Unfortunately, you’re not out of the clear yet. According to Reuters, Honda is recalling over 250,000 vehicles for a software issue. Here’s what we know.

Which Vehicles Are Part of the Recall?

Honda is recalling 256,603 Accord Hybrids between the years 2023 and 2025. If you have an Accord Hybrid between those years, you may be affected.

Why Were the Cars Recalled?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported a software issue where the main computer can reset while the car is driving. If this happens, “the vehicle will lose drive power, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.”

As spooky as this sounds, Honda has reported that only 0.3% of the recalled cars are estimated to have the defect.

What Should I Do if My Car Is Affected by the Honda Accord Recall?

Honda will send out notifications beginning January 5, but you can contact your dealership now. All repairs will be made free of charge.

You can also reach Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
