It’s not often that you come across actually free fast-food deals. There’s usually a catch — like you have to sign up for some loyalty program and order something through a mobile app, blah blah blah. But this week, Krispy Kreme is bucking that trend and offering free donuts to anyone who shows up. Here’s how it works.

Apparently, World Kindness Day is a thing, and it’s coming up on Nov. 13. “World Kindness Day is a reminder that we can all make a positive impact in people’s lives, including through small gestures like sharing a sweet treat,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme Global Chief Brand Officer in a press release.

Krispy Kreme is giving away boxes of one dozen original glazed donuts for free! There’s no purchase necessary, so all you have to do is show up at a participating location and get your free dozen. They’re hoping that you share them with others to spread kindness, and sharing with your coworkers, neighbors, or random people on the street seems like a fun and rewarding thing to do. (We certainly don’t recommend eating a dozen yourself.)

Just show up at a participating Krispy Kreme location on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024. The first 500 customers at each location will get a free dozen, so you might want to check to see what time they open in the morning and plan to go early. It doesn’t matter whether you go into the store or stick to the drive-thru, either. If you’re one of the first 500 customers, you’ll get your free dozen.

Krispy Kreme has given away tons of donuts in the past (though this might be one of the biggest giveaways with about 6,000 per store). The chain has celebrated National Donut Day with freebies, given blood donors a donut, and even encouraged vaccinations with free donuts.
