Not sure about you, but when we need a little retail therapy, it only happens in thrift stores and discount chains. That’s why we always head to stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods when we need to browse — or even when we’re hoping to score a specific thing on the cheap.
Thankfully, those stores are expanding, and more TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods locations will be open by June.
Why TJX Is Opening Stores
Discount chains are big business right now as wallets get tighter with soaring inflation, groceries, and gas prices. TJX Companies, the parent company that owns TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods (now you know why those stores all feel pretty much the same), specializes in off-price retail. That’s where they purchase unwanted items from other places and sell them at a discount.
Unsurprisingly, TJX’s overall sales have increased recently. Last year, the company’s sales went up 7% over the previous year, beating estimates. That seems like a pretty safe time to continue expansion plans.
