Many viewers are eagerly anticipating Sunday’s Super Bowl game, though for different reasons. Some are excited about watching Rihanna during the half-time show, while others can’t wait to see what crazy or illuminating ads make it onto the airwaves.

After all, companies pay big money (sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars a second) to make a mark during the show — like these 10 most expensive advertisements that TradingPedia has compiled.

10. Kia “Give It Everything” (2019)

Length: 90 seconds

Cost: $15.6 million, or $5.2 million for each 30 seconds

The South Korean automaker’s ad doesn’t feature its cars but instead the residents of a small town in Georgia who make Kia cars.

9. Amazon “Not Everything Makes the Cut” (2019)

Length: 90 seconds

Cost: $15.6 million, or $5.2 million for each 30 seconds

The ubiquitous online retailer likely spent the budget on star wattage for this one, with appearances by Harrison Ford, Forest Whitaker, Ilana Glazer, Abbi Jacobson, and astronaut twins Mark and Scott Kelly.

8. Chrysler “America’s Import” (2014)

Length: 2 minutes

Cost: $16 million, or $4 million for each 30 seconds

Chrysler hired Bob Dylan to shill its 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan and promote the idea of American-made coolness.

7. Ford “Go Further” (2017)

Length: 90 seconds

Cost: $16.2 million, or $5.4 million for each 30 seconds

This commercial by the car manufacturer shows a lot of stuck drivers and a GPS that can get you out of a traffic jam, which may be more impressive than the rest of the car.

6. 84 Lumber “The Journey Begins” (2017)

Length: 90 seconds

Cost: $16.2 million, or $5.4 million for each 30 seconds

You might not know 84 Lumber, but chances are good you still remember the Super Bowl ad featuring the migrant journey of a mother and daughter toward America. Though the ad was just 90 seconds, viewers were invited to watch the rest of the nearly 6-minute film online.

5. Amazon “Before Alexa” (2017)

Length: 90 seconds

Cost: 16.8 million, or $5.6 million, for each 30 seconds

In one of three (three!) appearances in the top 10, Amazon uses star couple Ellen Degeneres and Portia De Rossi to help viewers envision what life was like before Alexa through the ages (in short, pretty bad).

Cost: $16.8 million, or $5.6 million for each 30 seconds

Well, it wouldn’t be the Super Bowl without an ad that made you tear up. Google showed how it can remember the little things, like how a lost loved one laughed, in this ad.

3. Cadillac “ScissorHandsFree” (2021)

Length: 2 minutes, 10 seconds

Cost: $22 million, or $5.5 million for each 30 seconds 

Timothée Chalamet and Winona Ryder put a gently funny spin on the 1990 “Edward Scissorhands” with this look at his equally scissored son, Edgar, who doesn’t need hands at all to drive that year’s Cadillac.

2. General Motors “No Way Norway” (2021)

Length: 2 minutes, 10 seconds

Cost: $22 million, or $5.5 million for each 30 seconds

Will Ferrell, Kenan Thompson, and Awkwafina join forces (sort of) to let Norway know America is … coming for it? Or something? This loopy ad is General Motors’ way of letting viewers know it plans to market 30 electric vehicles by 2025.

Cost: $26 million, or $6.5 million for each 30 seconds 

This Super Bowl commercial shows Amazon’s Alexa reading the minds of real-life couple Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson for better or for worse.
