If you’re craving a juicy, Texas-sized, 5-inch burger, you might be in luck. Whataburger is opening 15 new locations across seven states in the next two months — and your zip code might be on the list.
The Corpus Christi–based burger chain, which had 1,180 locations as of February 2026, has been expanding its footprint slowly but strategically.

Whataburger, widely known as a Texas landmark, is still focusing most of its growth in southern and southeastern states, with the largest share of locations in its home state. States like Oklahoma, Florida, Arizona, Alabama, and Georgia each have around 40 to 50 locations, while Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri have between 20 and 30.
The chain opened its first North Carolina location in May 2025, marking its entry into its 17th state.
