Insomniacs and midnight snackers, this product’s for you. Breakfast-food maker Post has unveiled Sweet Dreams — a line of cereals that includes ingredients believed to promote melatonin production, potentially helping you catch a few more z’s.

The cereal comes in two flavors, Blueberry Midnight and Honey Moonglow. Both versions include lavender and chamomile, while Blueberry Midnight adds blueberry flavor (you don’t say … ) and Honey Moonglow features notes of vanilla and honey.

Whether the cereal’s herbal blend of vitamins and minerals — which includes B vitamins, zinc, and folic acid — can promote a better night’s sleep is debatable. Some sleep-deprived, cereal-eating reviewers have sung the cereal’s praises while others had to sing themselves a lullaby to try and get some sleep since Sweet Dreams didn’t do the trick.

One user of social media site TikTok said the cereal was both tasty and helped her to better fall asleep and stay asleep.

Another TikTokker said that the blend of B vitamins, which help convert food into energy, did just that: gave her a lot of energy, but at the expense of her sleep, and no sweet dreams were had.

Still, Post is marketing the cereal as a before-bedtime snack, not as a breakfast item. At about $5 a box, there’s not much harm in giving it a whirl, especially if you’re already struggling to sleep.
