Red Lobster fans who have been silencing their cravings to save money by avoiding takeout or dining out can now satisfy their taste buds with cheaper alternatives from the grocery store, with Red Lobster’s new line of frozen foods

The seafood chain already offers its Cheddar Bay biscuits in ready-to-bake frozen and box mix varieties, but it’s expanding its lineup to lure in lovers of its seafood dishes.

The frozen meal lineup includes coconut shrimp bites, Cheddar Bay Biscuit cod fillets, Parmesan-crusted garlic-and-herb stuffed shrimp, and Cheddar Bay Biscuit shrimp — which recently appeared on the restaurant’s menu for a limited time. But how much can you save by choosing the frozen varieties rather than dining out?

Though pricing varies among Red Lobster locations, an appetizer plate of coconut shrimp costs about $13 and, as an entree, which comes with two sides and unlimited biscuits, typically sets you back about $19. The frozen variety costs about $10 and, unlike the restaurant version, comes with a sweet chili dipping sauce rather than Red Lobster’s signature pina colada sauce.

Like the coconut shrimp, the frozen cod and other shrimp dishes also sell for about $10 a box retail and have started popping up in grocery store freezers.

As for the biscuits, they are complimentary at Red Lobster with the purchase of a meal,  which can run from about $13 to more than $40 a person depending on the meal. Box mixes of Cheddar Bay biscuits typically cost less than $3 at grocery stores, while the frozen iteration lands closer to $6. Both versions yield the same number of biscuits.
