Sam’s Club

Sam’s Club has become an unlikely fashion favorite on TikTok after members discovered its Member’s Mark Weekender Travel Bag. Dozens of viral TikTokkers are touting the $50 tote as a cheaper alternative to Beis’ weekender, which retails at stores like Nordstrom for double the price.

In one trending video, Sammi Brindley describes the Sam’s Club dupe as “identical” to the Beis bag.

“It feels really good quality. I feel like if you took care of it, it would last you, honestly, for years,” Brindley says, adding that the bag is “definitely worth” $50.

Beis’ tote (available in black and beige) boasts a padded laptop sleeve, spacious pockets, and a removable shoulder strap. Besides a few details and an additional pink version, Sam’s version is nearly identical — down to the bag’s protective metal feet.

While positive reviews in publications like Travel + Leisure helped popularize the Beis weekender earlier this summer — they called it “perfect” — the Member’s Mark alternative has quickly eclipsed the tote on social media.

Brindley’s video, for example, has accumulated nearly 20,000 views, and other content creators have amassed as many as 1.4 million views. And those views have translated to sales. All three colors of the Member’s Mark tote are sold out on the Sam’s Club website, though the retailer seems to be periodically restocking its selection on and offline, according to recent TikToks.

Sam’s Club competitor Costco also received outsized attention on #fashiontok this summer when fashionistas flooded the platform with the warehouse store’s affordable fashion finds.

“With the economy where it’s at, consumers don’t want to break the bank when buying clothes,” TikTokker Jennifer Maldonado told Cheapism in August. “Costco offers brand names and items that are on trend, look great on every body type, and all at a great value.”
