The Colonel has dominated the fast-food chicken landscape since the ’30s, but now, nearly 100 years later, he’s expanding. Say hello to Saucy, a new concept by KFC.
What is Saucy?

Saucy is a new kind of KFC restaurant. Rather than a full menu built around fried chicken, Saucy will focus on chicken tenders and be built around, well, sauce. 11 of them, to be exact. They’ve got a thing for that number, what with that secret mix of herbs and spices and all. You can expect 11 signature beverages as well, like Passion Fruit Orange Guava “Refreshers,” Peach-Mango Lemonade, and more.
How Is Saucy Different From KFC?

Tenders are your only option here, so enjoy a flight of sauces and take a journey. “Everyone is obsessed with sauce,” said KFC Chief New Concept Officer, Christophe Poirier in a press release. “With Saucy, we’ve taken KFC’s famous Original Recipe and amplified it with a brand-new concept that lets consumers play with flavor.”
Here are the 11 sauces available:
Chimichurri Ranch
Peri Peri Ranch
Jalapeno Pesto Ranch
Smokey Bacon Ranch
Thai Sweet ‘N Spicy
Sweet ‘N Saucy BBQ
Saucy’s Sauce
Spicy Mango Chutney
Saucy Ranch
Creole Honey Mustard
Sweet Teriyaki

When Does Saucy Open?

Great news, you won’t have to wait long: Saucy opens this Friday, Dec. 20.
Where is Saucy Located?

Right now, the first and only Saucy exists in Orlando, Florida, and is opening in the space of a former KFC at 502 S. Alafaya Trail.
Is Saucy Going to be Expensive?

You’d expect some major upcharging to be going on for a new concept like this, but at Saucy you can get yourself a three-piece tenders combo with a toasted roll, fries, medium drink and choice of sauce for $7.99. That gets the Cheapism stamp of approval.
