Spirit Halloween is trading cobwebs for candy canes. After trying out a Christmas-themed spinoff last year, the retailer says Spirit Christmas is returning in 2025 — this time with three times as many stores.
What Is Spirit Halloween Doing With Its Holiday Spinoff?

Spirit, which is owned by Spencer’s Gifts, says it’s tripling the holiday concept — going from 10 stores in 2024 to 30 in 2025. “At Spirit, we believe the magic of the season does not end with Halloween — it transforms,” said Steven Silverstein, CEO of Spirit Christmas. He called the stores “sensory-rich, interactive holiday experiences” and promised more to see and buy this time around.
What Will Shoppers Find at Spirit Christmas?

The holiday version sticks to the same playbook as Halloween. Shoppers will find festive décor, quirky gifts, seasonal apparel, and oversized yard inflatables. There’s also a Santa photo setup, along with pop culture tie-ins that Spirit leans on to keep things buzzy. “From our one-of-a-kind Santa photo experience to an exclusive collection of festive merchandise, we’re thrilled to welcome guests back for another unforgettable season of magic and fun,” said Silverstein.
Where Will the New Spirit Christmas Stores Be Located?

While last year’s test run was limited to the Northeast, in 2025, the brand will also expand its presence to the Midwest. The format at most stores will likely look familiar to Spirit Halloween shoppers: short-term leases in empty big-box stores that spring to life for just a few months.

Why Is Spirit Pushing Into the Christmas Shopping Season?

Halloween may have built the brand, but Christmas is the country’s top money-maker. Spirit already runs about 1,500 Halloween stores each fall. The expansion extends its calendar past October and into the biggest retail season of the year.
