Taco Bell superfans are constantly making new menu items go viral, but the latest drop has a chance to blow them all away. Fans have been anticipating the Baja Blast Pie after the company teased its existence over a year ago, and its time has finally come. If you’re hoping to rush out and grab a slice of the neon-hued dessert, here’s what you need to know.

What Is Baja Blast Pie?

Baja Blast is the bright green, vaguely tropical citrus Mountain Dew flavor that Taco Bell made famous. There’s been all kinds of variations on it, usually in equally neon colors, but this is the first time it’s been turned into a pie — though there was Baja Blast gelato about a year ago.

The pie is key lime-style, according to Taco Bell, with a layer of creamy filling in a graham cracker crust and a topping of whipped cream. It looks pretty good, honestly, as long as you can get past the potentially stomach-churning color. And considering Baja Blast is citrus-flavored, it makes sense that Taco Bell would take a cue from key lime pie for this one.

How Can I Get One?

Theoretically, you should be able to get one at any Taco Bell location nationwide. But that’s going to be difficult. Baja Blast pie is only sold whole, not by the slice. So as you can imagine, each store only has so many to go around. There are rumors on Reddit that each store gets only a dozen pies and sells them only on November 6, 2025 — a.k.a. today. So if you’re reading this article, chances are the scores of Baja Blast superfans may have beaten you to it already.

But if you are interested in scoring one of these for your Thanksgiving or friendsgiving party, your best bet is to try ordering it online to see if it’s in stock near you, or call TB directly to ask. You may have better luck at locations outside big cities, where it’s more likely to fly under the radar. If you DO find one, the Baja Blast pie costs $19.99.

If you have a Taco Bell Live Más Cafe nearby, you may be able to get a Baja Blast Pie Chiller as a consolation prize. It’s like if a Mountain Dew Baja Blast and a milkshake had a baby, complete with pieces of Baja Blast pie mixed in.

Lots of lucky(?) people who scored a Baja Blast pie through giveaways or by working at Taco Bell have posted about the concoction on Reddit. The consensus is that it’s actually pretty good.

“I won a pie from the recent giveaway and was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was,” said one Redditor. “I expected that since it was frozen the texture would be off but it’s actually very creamy and smooth. It has a nice kick of Baja flavor as well.”

Another Redditor who appears to be a Taco Bell employee said it was about what they expected. “I’ve been telling my coworkers it’s going to be key lime pie or a modified version of it since baja blast is just tropical lime and I think I hit it pretty good on the head, it’s mainly a key lime pie with an after taste of baja.”

Lots of people were commenting about the pie’s offputting color, which lead to one of the best Reddit conversations we’ve seen in a long time. “Why is it bioluminescent?” asked a Redditor. Someone else corrected them: “Bajaluminescent.”
