Hearth and Hand with Magnolia Recalled Tea Kettle
Consumer Product Safety Commission

When HGTV’s golden couple Chip and Joanna Gaines launched their Hearth & Hand with Magnolia brand at Target in 2017, a frenzy was unleashed, and the line has been a stalwart in the home-goods department of the store ever since, with a cult-like following. Offering everything from bedding and furniture to candles and dishes, Chip and Joanna’s brand certainly resonates. But that doesn’t mean its products are flawless: Target is recalling 12,800 Hearth & Hand with Magnolia tea kettles because of fire and burn hazards.

The retailer is encouraging shoppers who have purchased one of the white stainless steel tea kettles to return them to the store for a full refund. The paint on the bottom of the recalled kettles can chip off, creating a subsequent fire hazard when in use, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Additionally, the handle can break off and the spout can leak, possibly causing burns.
