Easter is coming up soon, and people are buying all kinds of chocolate for it. But one candy company, Tony’s Chocolonely, just announced a recall of some of its popular chocolate bars. Here’s everything you need to know about the recall, including how to get your money back.
Why Is the Chocolate Being Recalled?
Tony’s Chocolonely has issued a recall of some of its chocolate bars because a dozen consumers outside North America have reported finding small stones in the product, according to a press release about the recall. The stones were identified as coming from a third-party almond harvesting and processing company that supplied ingredients for the chocolate bars. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported yet.
Which Products Are Recalled?
There are two chocolate bars being recalled: Tony’s Chocolonely Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Tony’s Chocolonely Everything Bark. Both contain almonds from the third-party almond processing company, and both are 6.35-ounce bars.
The recalled chocolate bars were distributed and sold nationwide between Feb. 7 and March 24, 2025. They are sold at many grocery stores and other retail outlets, including online.
How Can I Tell if My Chocolate Is Recalled?
If you have a bar of Tony’s Chocolonely Dark Almond Sea Salt or Everything Bark, you should check the lot code printed on the end of the bar after the best by date. A total of seven lot codes have been recalled.

You can also go to the recall website set up by Tony’s to check the lot code on your chocolate bar. It will tell you whether the bar is part of the recall.
What Should I Do if I Have Recalled Chocolate?
If you have a recalled Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate bar, the company is advising you not to eat it. You can return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund or replacement. If you purchased the chocolate bar on Tony’s website, there’s a form you can fill out on the recall website for a refund.
