A fast food meal with French fries, chicken nuggets, honey mustard sauce, a cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato, and a large cup of soda on a tray.

New year, new menu. That’s the resolution that many fast-food chains seem to have made for 2026. And surprise, surprise: Everything’s getting more expensive.

The latest casualty is Wendy’s popular value bundle menu, and people are pissed. It had the best deals on the menu, and you didn’t need to be a rewards member or use the app for a coupon or jump through any other hoops to get them. They’re being replaced by new meals that are more expensive and give you less food — shrinkflation at its finest.

R.I.P. 4 for $4

The biggest loss on Wendy’s new meal deals menu is the 4 for $4 bundle. It was a great value, with a junior cheeseburger, 4-piece chicken nugget, junior fries, and a small soft drink. Over the years that it was offered, the sandwich included in the meal got more basic, and the size of the fries and drink got smaller, but it was still the cheapest way to get a meal at Wendy’s.

“I’ve always liked the 4 for 4,” said one Wendy’s customer in a Reddit thread about the menu changes. “They just continue to erode any reason I would ever want to go there.”

“Truly the end of an era,” said another Redditor, in regards to the loss of the 4 for $4 deal. “Once I learned the 444 will be discontinued nationwide and will now be the 446, I bought my last 444… and redeemed the last of my points for a small chili and extra crackers for one last big cheap feast.”

Wendy’s New Biggie ‘Deals’

So what’s replacing the 4 for $4 deal? Prepare to be underwhelmed. It (and the also-great-value Biggie Bags) has been replaced by a Biggie Deals Menu. Here’s what’s on it, along with price (keep in mind that these prices are only suggested, and franchisees can determine their own prices).

Three Wendy’s meal deals on a table: $4 Biggie Bites (nuggets), $6 Biggie Bag (fries, drink, nuggets, burger), and $8 Biggie Bundle (fries, drink, two burgers). Each meal is displayed with branded packaging.

$4 Biggie Bites

  • Pick one: Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Jr. Cheeseburger, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, 4-piece nuggets
  • Pick one: 4-piece nuggets, junior fry, or small soft drink

$6 Biggie Bag

  • Pick one: Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Jr. Cheeseburger, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, or Double Stack
  • 4-piece nuggets
  • Junior fry
  • Small soft drink

$8 Biggie Bundle

  • Pick two: Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Jr. Cheeseburger, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, or Double Stack
  • Junior fry
  • Small soft drink

That $6 Biggie Bag is essentially the 4 for $4, with the same options it used to have only a couple years ago. That fact isn’t lost on people.

“Its not just $2…,” said one Redditor, referring to the price increase. “Its literally a 50% increase… when you think of it that way it is simply too high of an increase too fast and there are better places to get more food for your money.”

The Biggie Bag deal, which Wendy’s has had for years, also got a dollar more expensive. On top of that, you only get a tiny junior size fry, and more basic sandwiches to choose from than in the past. And frankly, we don’t even consider an $8 meal to be a deal at any fast-food chain, even if it comes with two sandwiches.

On Reddit, Wendy’s employees have posted photos of fact sheets explaining the new Biggie Deals Menu from the company. They start with the line, “How customers think about value is always changing!”, and people are not taking kindly to that silly sentiment.

“No it’s not,” said one Redditor, refuting the statement. “And that’s why Wendy’s saw traffic shrink throughout last year. Our definition of value has remained. What’s changed is that Wendy’s no longer delivers it.”
