Fast-food chains are the choice of millions due to their low cost and speedy service, and because staples like hamburgers, hot dogs, and fried chicken are among the most popular foods. However, not everything about fast food is positive; just take a look at these peculiar and bizarre images from Reddit where the fast-food world gave us the creeps!
Fast-Food Gods in Hong Kong

According to Reddit user KatOfSound, these figures appeared at a fast-food restaurant in the Hong Kong airport. Users commenting on the post were able to identify Ronald McDonald and KFC’s Colonel Sanders, but Ronald also appears in blue and green versions at the back. These figures were priced at US$85, as the user mentioned.
Sink in the Eating Area

It’s not at all common to find a sink in the middle of a court or fast-food area, right next to the tables. Usually, people have to go to the restroom, wash their hands, and then return to their table to enjoy the meal. However, Reddit user Mediocre-Disk737 shared this image of a newly opened A&W in Canada and opined: “That sink is a game changer because I have three boys under five.”
The Other Side of The Soda Fountain

Many people have stood in front of a soda fountain at a fast-food place or restaurant. These machines are simple and quick to use. However, hardly anyone knows where the soda actually comes from, and this image reveals it. The liquid comes from cardboard boxes containing a plastic container, with tubes running from them to connect to the dispenser you recognize.
Fast Food’s Christmas

Reddit user 14PulsarsV1 revealed that his girlfriend wrapped the Christmas gifts in fast-food bags. Upon seeing the image, the only thing that comes to mind is that lingering fast-food aroma, the kind that clings to the bags, just like when you open them after picking up a hot order from the restaurant. Let’s just hope they were unused bags that she specifically asked for at the fast-food chains.
Car Wash Drive Thru

The image shows a line of cars heading to the drive-thru to place an order, entering a covered area that Reddit user garagehirohata explained used to be a car wash. The fast-food restaurant owners made the most of the existing facilities in this case. The user remarked: “I was in Lion’s Choice and ordered a roast beef sandwich and fries with a side of chipotle ranch.”

Diapers in Men’s Bathroom at Fast Food Joint

We are aware of the connection between diapers and fast-food outlets, but no customer would want to be reminded of that when entering the restroom at one of these restaurants. Aside from the sign stating “Forget something? We will take care of you,” the design of the diapers reassures us that they are for babies, not adults.
Blocked Advertisement

Reddit user Nickd3000 posted an image showing how Domino’s, the fast-food pizza chain, incorporated the very object that was obscuring its message into the advertisement itself: the green electrical box located outside the premises, right in front of the window. Some customers might want to know how the phrase ends.
Culver’s Enormous Fish Tank

The fast-food chain Culver’s specializes in Wisconsin-style burgers and frozen custard, though it also offers fish options, such as the North Atlantic cod sandwich or fish and chips. While Culver’s doesn’t let customers choose fish from a giant tank, as some restaurants do, this particular location on the outskirts of Naples, Florida caught customer’s attention.

Sink with No Handles

Reddit user JustAFieryLizard revealed this image of a sink in the back area of a fast-food restaurant. It has no handles, so to get water flowing, you have to operate the red and blue pedals located underneath. The reason for the pedals is to prevent cross-contamination of the handles between coworkers who use the same handle.
Fast-Food Restaurant with its Own Rollercoaster

Reddit users commented that this fast food Burger King with a rollercoaster is located in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Additionally, user reddfawks revealed that the rollercoaster is part of the House of Frankenstein attraction next to the Burger King. The only recommendation is that customers should ride it before eating their burger, rather than after, to avoid any issues.
Complimentary Mouthwash

The reason a fast food joint might have mouthwash in the restroom is, perhaps, to let you get rid of the lingering taste of the fast food with a mint-flavored rinse. We imagine it’s a great way to hide the fact that you’ve eaten fast food from a family member when you’re supposed to be on a diet. No one would know.
Not Round Bagel

Bagels are supposed to be round, not this quasi-triangular shape, but at this fast food spot, they didn’t pay much attention to meeting to the company’s standards. Reddit user AntiqueRead commented: “Fast Food franchises are super detail oriented and focused on ensuring everyone’s food tastes and looks the exact same.”
McDonald’s Insects

It doesn’t seem like a good idea to mix concepts like insects and spiders with fast food. In fact, you’d want them as far away from any food as possible. In this case, it’s a combination involving French fries and ketchup from McDonald’s and it’s one of the strangest images we’ve come across.
Old Cashier Computer

Reddit user heretilthemoon revealed that while at the drive-thru of a Mexican fast food restaurant, he noticed a very old computer that was still working and being used by the employees. User [borrado] replied: “It looks like a Panasonic JS700 series point of sale terminal, which was sold in various markets during the late 1980s and the 1990s.”
Weird and Sad Cookie

Reddit user alfalorian revealed this sad cookie he bought from Tim Hortons and mentioned that the fast food should make happy and sad faces and remarked that it wasn’t fun explaining why a cookie would be sad to her three-year-old. She explained: “I had to tell her that sometimes cookies are sad, just like everyone, and that’s okay.”
The First Ronald McDonald

The first actor to portray Ronald McDonald on television was Willard Scott, a Washington D.C., radio personality who later became a television weatherman and played the ‘happy hamburger clown’ role, in 1963. Reddit user Slight_Farm_5582 commented: “I don’t know in those years, but seeing it would make me cry, it would have been my punishment to take me to McDonald’s.”
Fast-Food Pick Up Lockers

Reddit user triplealpha revealed this image where a fast food restaurant exhibits a mobile pickup lockers for online orders. As we understand it, there is a mechanized system behind those black doors where the fast-food outlet can deliver the food, and the customer must enter a code on the screen to pick it up. User sock_police replied: “At this point we are so close to reinventing the automat!”
Another Wendy Almost 20 Years Later

In the city of Vancouver, there is a building that housed a Wendy’s fast food restaurant on its ground floor back in 2009. Due to constant construction and redevelopment in the city, that fast-food outlet had to close to make way for other businesses. What surprised Reddit user ketherick was that the new building rising on that very same site was named “Wendy.”

After seeing these images, you’ll realize that fast food offer much more than just cheap, quick meals to fuel your daily routine. You might stumble upon unusual, funny, or bizarre situations, the kind that simply wouldn’t happen restaurants where a more polished image is often emphasized.
