If you’ve been craving Beaver Nuggets while simultaneously blaming your zip code for not having a Buc-ee’s nearby, that might finally be changing.
The cult-favorite travel center chain is expanding into six new states, meaning more people may soon get to experience the oversized gas station with clean restrooms and addictive brisket sandwiches for themselves.
The Texas-based chain is known nationwide for being more than just your regular gas station and pit stop; it’s an attraction on its own.

The one downside to Buc-ee’s, however, is its strategic — and, according to fans itching for fresh jerky, painfully slow — expansion. So far, the gas station chain operates in only 11 states: Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
Now, the company’s planned expansion could bring Buc-ee’s into six new states. Two openings have already been planned for this year, bringing its total footprint to 20 states.
Which States Are Getting a Buc-ee’s?
Arizona
Arizona will officially become Buc-ee’s territory this summer, with the first location opening in Goodyear near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue. The travel center is expected to span roughly 74,000 square feet and include around 120 fueling stations, which is less “gas station” and more “small airport terminal.” According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the store is slated to open on June 22.
Arkansas
Arkansas is also finally getting its first Buc-ee’s later this year in Benton. The location is planned near Interstate 30 and Highway 299, with local officials expecting a grand opening sometime around August.
“We’re happy to announce that it looks to be early to mid-August that the grand opening will take place,” Chairman of the City of Benton Advertising and Promotion Commission Bill Eldridge told KATV.
Another Arkansas location near West Memphis is already planned further down the road.
Wisconsin
Wisconsin’s first location is expected to open in Oak Creek in 2027 near Interstate 94. Like most newer Buc-ee’s builds, it’s expected to be massive, complete with more than 100 gas pumps and enough snacks to financially ruin anyone with poor impulse control.
Louisiana
Louisiana is getting its first Buc-ee’s in Ruston, with current plans targeting a mid-2027 opening. The location will reportedly sit near Interstate 20 and include the chain’s standard oversized setup with a sprawling convenience store and well over 100 fueling spots. Another Louisiana location is also expected later in Lafayette.
Kansas
Kansas City, Kansas, is next in line for its first Buc-ee’s sometime in 2027. Plans for the travel center include another roughly 74,000-square-foot location near Interstate 70 and West Village Parkway. In other words, residents should probably prepare for traffic, brisket lines, and at least one family member suddenly becoming emotionally attached to beaver merchandise.
North Carolina
North Carolina rounds out the expansion list, with the state’s first Buc-ee’s planned for Mebane. The location is expected to open sometime in late 2027 and marks another major step in the chain’s steady expansion across the Southeast. Local reports also suggest additional North Carolina locations could eventually follow.

While six brand-new states are joining the Buc-ee’s club, the chain is also continuing to aggressively expand inside places where the beaver already reigns supreme.
Texas is getting yet another location in San Marcos this summer, which will mark the company’s 37th store in its home state alone. Florida fans can also expect more Buc-ee’s stops in St. Lucie, Tallahassee, and eventually Ocala, while Georgia is lined up for a new location in Monroe County.
