Another day, another food recall. This time it feels more urgent because it’s food for babies and toddlers — and from the biggest brand name in the business. Here’s what you need to know about the Gerber baby biscuits recall, including what to do if you have the affected products.

What’s Wrong With the Recalled Baby Food?

The Gerber snack biscuits are being recalled “out of an abundance of caution due to the potential presence of soft plastic and/or paper pieces that should not be consumed,” according to a notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. That sounds like the biscuits may pose a choking hazard to us.

The problem stems from the arrowroot flour used in the product. That supplier initiated a recall, according to the FDA. Thankfully, no reports of illness or injury have been reported yet, and the baby food company has stated that they no longer do business with the arrowroot supplier.

Which Products Were Recalled?

Gerber initiated the recall of its Arrowroot Biscuits. The biscuits were packaged in 5.5-ounce light blue pouches. These are the batch codes and best by dates of the recalled Arrowroot Biscuits packages, which will be printed near the bottom of the back of the bag.
