A homemade twist on Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal has been taking TikTok by storm. If you’re looking for a (slightly) healthier, gluten-free alternative to making the classic childhood cereal at home, this quick and easy recipe may be worth a try.

The recipe, which features gluten-free tortillas, is a healthier alternative to mass-produced cereals — many of which are chock-full of sugar and other filler ingredients. (Some commenters have pointed out that the recipe also resembles a variation of buñuelos, a traditional Mexican dessert that is sometimes made with flour tortillas.) And the best part is that all you need to recreate this recipe are a few simple ingredients:

  • Two gluten-free tortillas
  • Cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Powdered cinnamon

You can also buy ready-made Cinnamon Toast Crunch seasoning, or Cinnadust, for less than $6 at Sam’s Club. (It’s also available on Amazon for $8.)

Next, cut up your tortillas into long strips and then into bite-sized squares. Transfer them to a large bowl, spray with some oil and coat them with your sugar and cinnamon mix. After that, just pop them into an air fryer at 350 degrees for five minutes and you’re all set. You can now enjoy homemade Cinnamon Toast Crunch!
