We don’t know who comes up with silly food “holidays,” but we do love the free food that often accompanies them. This Friday, June 6, is National Donut Day, and there are lots of bakery chains giving away free or discounted donuts.

So if you want to celebrate this very solemn and important day honoring breakfast pastry, here’s where you can score the best freebies and deals at chain restaurants.

Dunkin’

You can get a free classic donut of your choice when you purchase any beverage on June 6. The deal is good at locations nationwide, and you don’t need to use the mobile app or jump through any hoops to get it.

Krispy Kreme loves giving out free donuts, and National Donut Day is no exception. Anyone who walks into one on June 6 will get a free donut of their choice, no purchase necessary. If you need more than one donut, you can get a dozen original glazed donuts for $2 when you purchase a dozen at regular price as well.

Duck Donuts

Convenience stores have great donuts, too. Head to Sheetz between June 6 and 10 to get a free donut when you also purchase any fountain drink, bottled beverage, or Sheetz Brothers coffee. You’ll have to use the chain’s mobile app to get the freebie by adding it under the “Offerz” tab.

7-Eleven and Speedway

These two convenience stores are both offering glazed donuts for just 50 cents each for rewards program members on June 6. If you miss that deal, you can still get the same donut for $1 through June 24.

You can buy as many as you want since there’s no limit on redemptions, but you’ll have to be a member of either store’s rewards program to get it. If you’re a member of Maverik’s upgraded Nitro loyalty program, you’ll also get a free donut of your choice.

Lidl
