Wawa says the issue was traced back to a temporary equipment problem that may have introduced milk into the drinks. While that might not matter for most people, undeclared milk can trigger serious or even life-threatening reactions for those with allergies.

No illnesses have been reported so far, and the company added that the equipment issue has since been fixed.

What Should You Do?

Anyone who purchased one of the affected beverages is advised to throw it away rather than drink it.Wawa is offering refunds in the form of a gift card, and customers can reach out through its website or customer service line for more information.

The company also confirmed that all impacted products have already been pulled from store shelves, and that no other Wawa drinks are included in the recall.
