There’s been a large recall of an ingredient used by many food manufacturers, and it’s now affecting at least a dozen brands of products, from potato chips to ranch seasoning.
On April 20, 2026, California Dairies issued a recall for bulk powdered milk and buttermilk that was distributed to many distributors and manufacturers. The powdered dairy may be contaminated with Salmonella, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It can cause serious or fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly, and anyone with a compromised immune system.
We’ve compiled a list of all the products you can buy at grocery stores that are associated with the California Dairies powdered dairy recall. Make sure you check your kitchen and pantry for any of these products. If you do, the FDA advises you not consume it and throw it away.
